Every patient is a star.
Dr. Sharaf and the Stars Orthodontics team enjoy getting to know each patient and their families, and we aspire to learn what excites each one, whether it is a favourite hobby, a sport, a skill or a subject at school. Our commitment is to recognize every patient as a unique star and treat them accordingly, with quality clinical care and personalized service in a warm, compassionate environment.
Treatment built around your case.
Before we proceed with any treatment we thoroughly examine your teeth and jaw structure and create a plan designed around your specific needs. Whether you are looking to correct crooked teeth, close gaps, or resolve a bite issue like an overbite or underbite, we will talk you through the options first.
Straightening your teeth
Braces
Metal braces remain the most common option for their strength, predictability and precise control over tooth movement. Ceramic braces blend with the shade of your teeth for a more discreet appearance, and need attentive daily care to stay stain-free.
Clear aligners
Low-profile removable trays that treat overbites, underbites, crowding and gaps. You take them out at meals, brush and floss as usual, and their contoured edges avoid the friction that brackets and wires can cause.
Corrective jaw surgery
Where the jaw bones themselves are significantly misaligned, Dr. Sharaf plans each phase with experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the Ottawa region. His approach is conservative: non-surgical solutions come first whenever they are clinically feasible.
Care at every age
Early treatment for children
The Canadian and American Associations of Orthodontists both recommend a first check-up by age seven, when the first adult molars have usually erupted. Most seven-year-olds are not ready for active treatment, and an early look is often just monitoring.
Adult treatment
Tooth movement works the same way at any age when your teeth, gums and supporting bone are healthy. Clear aligners, ceramic braces and traditional metal braces are all open to adult patients, chosen around your schedule and your goals.
Virtual consultation
Offered case by case where mobility, distance or scheduling makes a first in-person visit difficult. You send eight photos of your smile from your phone, Dr. Sharaf reviews them, and an in-person visit still comes before any active treatment.
Getting started
Fewer hurdles before you start.
No referral needed
A referral from a family dentist is welcome and we correspond with the dentist of your choosing, but you do not need one to book a first appointment. We welcome self-referrals from families across Ottawa.
Book a consultationMonthly payment plans
Orthodontic care runs over many appointments rather than one visit, so we offer monthly payment plans. Our coordinator goes over every fee with you before treatment begins, and works with you to find an arrangement that fits.
Ask about plansInsurance handled for you
Most plans cover a percentage of treatment up to a lifetime maximum. Our team works directly with your provider to help you get the most out of the coverage you already have.
See what we treatWho we are
A smaller practice, on purpose.
We have kept the practice small so that Dr. Sharaf can stay hands-on, seeing every patient personally at every visit and following each case up close as it progresses. Orthodontic care here does not feel like an assembly line. Our downtown office was designed to be modern, welcoming and comfortable for patients of every age.

This is truly the best orthodontic clinic I have been to in all my years of having work done. The staff is attentive, kind and very quick! From our initial consultation to now, I was taken care of above and beyond. Thank you very much to everyone at this clinic!
I recently went to the clinic and I have been very happy with the care they provided. The staff were also very nice and friendly and my appointments were on time.
I had an amazing experience with Dr. KHALED. He completely transformed my teeth, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! He was professional, patient, and explained everything clearly throughout the process. The care and attention to detail he gave made me feel comfortable and confident.
Your first visit
What the first appointment covers.
Your first visit is a dedicated hour to look at your dental health, hear what you want to change, and set out an approach. We encourage questions from patients and parents alike, and we set aside time to answer them before anything begins.

Get in touch
Call or text the clinic, or send a request from this page. We are not a walk-in clinic, so we book you in first. If your family dentist took a panoramic x-ray in the last six months we may not need a new one.
-
An assessment with Dr. Sharaf
He conducts the initial assessment himself: your medical and dental history, what prompted you to come in, and whether treatment is recommended now or worth monitoring. For young children the exam is counting teeth and checking the bite, explained before it happens. There are no injections at this office.

Options, timing and fees
You leave knowing which methods suit your case, roughly how long treatment would take, and a breakdown of the estimated fees and the payment options that go with them.
